Wonders of winking?
I get this question a lot - should I use the free 'wink' feature on dating sites? Well, my quick and simple answer is no, especially if you are a guy.
After interviewing many women that use online dating sites in the past, women simply get too many winks to do anything with. And you know how women are - they rarely make the first move. So, if you are a guy sending a wink - it sends the signal that you don't really want to pay to contact her, or you are too lazy to write an email to her. Not good signs! If you are a woman, and you aren't a paid member, then its okay to wink usually. If you are a paid member, same thing applies - the guy will think you are too lazy to write an email and think you probably aren't that interested, so don't wink.
Come on guys and girls. Get writing emails instead. And get creative!

Plenty of 'bigger' fish.com?
I really do have enormous respect for the owner of plentyoffish.com, which has become a huge free online dating site. And boy is he raking in the cash from the Google ads on there (a recent cheque for $900,000!). But unfortunately, this site has one major drawback. How can I put this.... if you like 'whales' or bigger fish, then this site is for you. For some reason, the larger element of society has flocked to this website and joined it in search of their true love.
I live in San Diego, where there is a very high proportion of good looking women. But looking on this site you would think I lived in Alabama or something! Very strange. I think its worth paying $20 a month on match.com to try and date more 'normal' (call me shallow) women and men. For a better free dating site, if you haven't done so already, I definitely recommened reading my free MySpace dating secrets eBook. Still waiting for that $900,000 check though ;) Or even a $10,000 check :) I can dream I guess....
